This approach results in effective and coordinated service provision for those she serves. Chantelle’s focus is to offer exceptional, integrated and truly individualised speech pathology services to clients in the community, using the best available evidence combined with their goals, interests and practical aspirations.
Chantelle delights in working with people across the lifespan in achieving their communication, literacy, and feeding goals.
Chantelle has experience working with toddlers through to elders in speech, language, literacy, voice, feeding and swallowing. Experience with various diagnoses including: Autism Spectrum Disorder (using Neurodiversity Affirming practices), Attention Deficit Disorders, Developmental Language Disorder, Brain Injury, Down Syndrome, Intellectual Impairment, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Global Developmental Delay, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
Ongoing professional development is a requirement for all Certified Practicing Speech Pathologists. Some of Chantelle’s most recent further education includes: Paediatric Feeding and Management delivered by Queensland Children’s Hospital, Mealtime Management delivered by Queensland Department of Disability Services, PROMPT technique training, Clinical Supervision training through both Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University, Auslan sign language levels 1 and 2, participation in Project Echo multidisciplinary education delivered by Children’s Health Queensland, Workshops with Feeding Therapy Australia and The Get Permission Institute (Responsive feeding approach with Marsha Dunn Klein) and Closing The Gap Cultural Safety Training delivered by Gold Coast Primary Health Network.
Chantelle also regularly attends networking, supervision and training with health professionals outside of speech pathology. This ensures she provides up to date, comprehensive recommendations as well as advocating for clients to seek care from other health professionals when necessary. It often takes a team to help a client- not just one discipline!
When Chantelle is not in the clinic, she is most likely to be found hanging out with her sons and husband somewhere close to salt water or on a bushwalk. She is an absolute foodie and finds greats joy in assisting others to find their joy in mealtimes and food.
